Language: The official language in Northern Cyprus is Turkish. English is also widely spoken.

Entry to the Country: It is possible to enter the country with a valid passport or Turkish ID card.
Travel: There are 2 airports in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus: Geçitkale Airport (Military) and Ercan Airport (Civil). Ercan Airport, used for tourism activities, is located east of Nicosia, the capital of Northern Cyprus, and is 12 km away. The renewed Ercan Airport has all the infrastructure necessary for tourism and provides better service every day. You can also reach Northern Cyprus by sea and enter the island from the ports of Kyrenia and Gazimağusa.
Communication: The international dialing code is + 90 392. To call Northern Cyprus from Turkey, dial (0 392) and then the number you are calling. The city codes are 81 for Kyrenia, 36 for Gazimağusa and 22 for Lefkoşa. Internet access can be provided in hotels and internet cafes in cities and villages. In addition, landlines and GSM-based mobile phones are used in every corner of the island. There are two GSM operators operating in Northern Cyprus, KKTCELL and KKTC Telsim.
Traffic: In the opposite direction of Turkey, going is from the left lane and returning is from the right lane.
Currency: Turkish Lira (TL) is the currency used in Northern Cyprus. British pounds and traveler’s checks are accepted in banks, hotels and exchange offices. It is possible to use many types of credit cards here,
Time: Northern Cyprus is in the GMT + 2 time zone.
Electricity: In Northern Cyprus, where 240 Volt electricity is used, plugs are arranged according to British standards. (220/240 Volts A/C)
Beach: TRNC beaches, where the average sea water temperature is 24 C between May and October, have facilities such as restaurants, cafeterias, and bars, as well as umbrellas and other facilities to meet your needs. In addition, all kinds of activities such as water skiing, banana, ringo, jet-ski, parachute, surfing, etc. are available.
Accommodation and Hotels: Most of the touristic places are in Kyrenia and Famagusta. However, there is work being done to develop the magnificent Karpaz peninsula. It is possible to find five, four and three star hotels, apartments as well as villas by the sea or in typical Cyprus villages.
Shopping: Popular souvenirs include copper, silver, bronze and wooden items, Turkish dolls, meerschaum pipes, backgammon, gold jewellery, leather jackets and textiles at cheap prices. Prices are fixed and there is no barter system in Northern Cyprus. Opening hours of shops are 8:00-13:00 and 15:30-20:00. Markets are only open in the mornings. Handicrafts other than pottery are not for tourists. It is against the law to take antiques out of the country.
